The purpose of the Armenian Cultural Center is to showcase Armenian heritage which was repressed and almost eliminated in the beginning of the twentieth century.
This center is dedicated to Hrant Dink, a Turkish-Armenian journalist who was killed by a seventeen year old Turkish nationalist in 2007. This was shortly after the premiere of the Genocide documentary “Screamers”, in which he was interviewed about Turkish denial of the Armenian Genocide which took place in 1915 with the massacre of one and a half million Armenians.
The Armenian Cultural Center is an effort to showcase and teach about Armenian art, culture, tradition and values.
The primary elements of the Cultural Center are an entrance foyer, a theatre, a bookstore, a restaurant, a gallery and retail stores.
